TREAT YOURSELF TO INSPIRATIONAL KINDNESS

BE YOURSELF.  BE INSPIRED.  BE KIND.

BE YOURSELF

How wonderful would it be to have a line of oh-so beautiful luxury candies that are actually kind to you?
Our Trueffles are made with fruits, nuts, seeds and spices. They are seriously made of true food: We source, roast and make them from scratch. We don't buy the nuts already roasted or the fruits dried with sugar or in a paste. Our Trueffles have no added sugar, nor syrup or fruit concentrate. They have no added oil and they’re naturally made without gluten, corn, soy and diary ingredients. They are minimally processed: They have no protein powders, fillers, artificial flavors or preservatives. They’re non-GMO, VEGAN and grain-free, so PALEO-friendly. We believe that our minimal process makes our Trueffles truly exquisite and does matter for your health.
Our Trueffles are packed with goodness: We work closely with nutritionists to make sure you get as many vitamins and minerals as possible, with 50 calories or less, in every Trueffle. Our Trueffles help boost your intake of antioxidants, flavonoids, fiber, polyphenols and micronutrients, all of which are essential for a healthy body and soul.

A KIND STORY

Life has been kind to me and has taken me to all sorts of wonderful places around the world. I worked intensively in philanthropy in Montreal and understood the importance of healthy eating in everyone's lives to not only prevent chronic diseases, but to reach your maximum potential and to feel great. I started making some truffles simply made of fruits, nuts and seeds to satisfy my sweet tooth after a meal. I loved their straightforwardness - with no added sugar, oil or protein blends. That's where the name Trueffles - True Food Truffles - comes from!
I was definitely inspired by my time in Tokyo: I love how in Japan, small indulgences are perfectly packaged to turn an everyday item into a little work of art that injects a shot of inspiration into your life. My Trueffles became my creative outlet: In that spirit, I reached out to some local Detroit artists to make paintings that inspired my packaging, and searched high and low for environmentally friendly (but pretty) wrappers. And then came the idea of being part of the solution, to give the proceeds back to our community to promote healthy living.
I truly hope you'll enjoy our Trueffles, but most importantly, I thank you for being part of this journey.

Forgotten Harvest is dedicated to relieving hunger in Metro Detroit, and preventing nutritious food waste. It was established in 1990 to fight two problems: Hunger and waste. Forgotten Harvest “rescued” 41 million pounds of food last year by collecting surplus prepared and perishable food from 800 sources, including grocery stores, fruit and vegetable markets, restaurants, caterers, dairies, farmers, wholesale food distributors, and other Health Department-approved sources. This donated food, which would otherwise go to waste, is delivered free-of-charge to 280 emergency food providers in the Metro Detroit area.
